Typical pub with typical pub food. Huge nachos!

I've been here twice, once for lunch and once for breakfast. The first time I had a taco salad and it was very good. We sat in the bar area which was mostly empty. That visit was mostly positive and would have garnered a 3 1/2 star rating. Sadly, the most recent visit for breakfast was a complete bummer. We sat in the restaurant side and were greeted and seated immediately. I like to try chicken fried steak so I asked the server what kind of meat it was. I was wondering if it was actual steak or the more common cubed steak that most joints have resorted to. She said it was pork. When I chuckled and scoffed at her answer she quickly corrected herself and said it was beef. After explaining what I meant, she admitted that she didn't really know but said it comes to them frozen. I told her that I appreciated her candor and dismissed CFS as my choice. I ended up going with an omelet. The omelet was described as ham, bacon and cheese. What a disaster that turned out to be. The pieces of bacon in the omelet were way too big and should have been diced much smaller. The worst part was that the cheese was 3 slices that were put on top of the omelet and melted. The presentation was so bad that I was forced to scrape all of the cheese off. If I'd brought my phone I would have snapped a picture, it was that bad. The hash browns lacked seasoning and I swear my nearly unbuttered toast was stale. I will say the omelet was large but just not very good. My girlfriend had pancakes, bacon and fried eggs. She always orders eggs over medium and they were over easy. She couldn't eat them and didn't much care for the cakes. The cook just didn't seem to care about what was being served. I may return for lunch but I assure you that breakfast is ruined for me forever.

Not sure we would go back. Service was decent once our waitress/bartender came. Food portions were decent but kind of bland. Beer prices were high for the mediocre selection as for well drinks couldn't say. The building is 70's box style, but designed to separate the 'restaurant' from the bar with according style room dividers which can open up and creat a very large 'bar' room etc. In my opinion there are better places. This place would satisfy those who want a large selection of food

Great deals for breakfast, good food. I have played pool there a few times. Definetly try some breakfast, beats Shari's, and Dot the waitress is awesome!

Worst service I have had in a long time. Took over 10 minutes for our server to greet us. Then took her over 40 minutes to come back to the table, spoke to a bartender and instead of her telling our server to come back, she just said "awe, I'm sorry I'm off." Will not be returning.

Best burgers in Oregon City by a long shot. And the tater tots?? Mmmmmm! Yes, they are a bit rustic, but honestly, I'd much rather go here than some yuppie Red Robin type place. The food is wonderful and very reasonably priced. It's good, non complicated, non yuppified, food. Always good service, even if the place is packed. If you're looking for wine and brie? Not the place. But for wonderful, mouth watering, drool inducing burgers and the like? Run, run to Wichita!!

Once again, I get the feeling that the star ratings of restaurants in Oregon City are skewed by the fact that everything is relative to how good the overall food in Oregon City is, which is not good at all. It's like we live in a vacuum, where no consideration is taken of the good food that exists within 40 minutes of this city. Anyway, on to the review of the Wichita. I would give this place two and a half stars, but I can't and if I am pressed one way or the other, I have to go with two stars. The place is blah, everything is brown, it's shaped like a shoe box, it's not interesting, or comfy, or anything, really, it's just a big room with a bunch of tables. The service was OK, that's a bout it, nothing bad to say, but nothing good either. We sat ourselves, not sure if we were supposed to, there is no sign, no host station, no direction. It didn't take too long to order, or get our food, a solid three star performance. Then the food came. I ordered a burger that was supposed to have egg, ham, and bacon on it, I can't remember what it was called, but the egg wasn't on it. The burger was super dry, and not seasoned. Yes the patty was big, but who cares, if it doesn't taste good? My wife ordered chicken tenders, they were straight out of the freezer, but not even good quality frozen ones, they looked more like fish sticks than chicken tenders. So that's where they go from an average three star joint to a two star, while everything was mediocre, their food was less than mediocre. If you live in Oregon City, you may like this place, if you are passing through and used to actual, good food, ignore the four and five star reviews and keep driving.

This place is close to where I live and has always been our go to place. The waitresses are always friendly and attentive and the food is great and plentiful. The prices are very fair.

Came here on my lunch break, food was "ok." There was four people seated waiting for two more. With lunch, our meals have to be quick. With two empty seats, the waitress assumed we were not ready. :(. After finally getting her attention and taking our orders, she served our food "on-the-fly" and had separate checks prepared already. ;) I had the grilled salmon, it was overlooked. It's a bar, what do you expect? Don't ask me why I ordered salmon, I guess I was just a craving it. My coworkers' meals looked much better; the taco salads are huge! The food was ok. Service was fast and exceptional. 3 1/2 stars

Well, I'm hoping this review doesn't get me plastered as the "bad" Oregon City-onian. I've lived in Oregon City (on and off) for 15 years and always heard about Wichita - seen friends' posts on facebook, driven by it as I check my mail at the post office, but never actually stopped in there until a couple weeks ago....and my visit definitely confirmed my reasons for avoiding that place for so many years. I walked in here, after a day at the office, in slacks and heels - and dang near the entire restaurant turned and stared at me in disbelief. Ma & Pa Kettle sat at one table, in their complete get up with very few teeth. Perverted truck driver Dan sat across from them, dribbling cold mushroom sauce down his scraggly beard. My Grandfather has always sworn by this place. I've given it two chances, and will never go back. It took me a while to understand that what seemed like it should've been the emergency exit was actually the front door - but perhaps I'm just a dunce. Nobody greeted me when I walked in, or explained that I was supposed to seat myself so I stood in the middle of all the dirty perverse truckers, really tempted to just turn around and walk out. The food was mediocre. I ordered a steak medium-well and the thing came out gushing blood. It took forever to get any refills on our drinks. My son's tater tots were soggy - and even cold inside (they must've been frozen Ore-Ida tater tots). I sent the steak back and it was apparently a big inconvenience. I love all the local dives, but this place is nothing short of one of those dirty truck stop diners in the horror movies. You know, the one where the cook slaughters the possums in the back, throws it on the grill and calls it dark meat chicken, and the waitress sounds like Fran Drescher and puts her cigarette out just before serving your food? Yeah. That's the place. Best nights to eat there? How about never. In short - sorry to deflower the common OC opinion - but I don't think I'd ever eat there again...unless I decide to change professions and join the truckers union.

First visit here, recommended by a friend. Had a Chicken Fried Steak Sandwich, very good but not the best if you're counting calories. They have plenty of menu items to choose from at very reasonable prices, many looked very appealing. Will return soon to try more of their selections.

Definitely NOT my place. The foods alright. And depending on the night, you may be waiting a long time for any service, and when you do get your food its not all that great. And not to mention the servers hardly ever fill drinks or grab you anything you ask for.

I really wanted to give Wichita a decent review. We live close by and there's a few items they serve that we, my wife and I, really enjoy. I'm a meat and potatoes sort of guy. I love the chicken fried steak and the salisbury steak. My wife loves the tater tots. Ambiance means nothing to me. I'd eat a meal in the back of a pickup truck with anyone as long as they're a carnivore. What I won't put up with is nasty servers with attitude problems and that seems to be all too common at Wichita. The saddest part is that I always tip well and they know it. We have been regulars at Wichita for most of a decade. I think it's time to find another place for a meal and a drink after work. Goodbye Wichita.

If you're looking for a salad, go elsewhere. If you're looking for large portions of mediocre dead animal flesh, this is the place for you. My family doesn't eat healthy so they all ordered burgers baskets. It's interesting that even though they all wanted to go there, none of them raved about the food. When asked, they said, "It's all right." What is the point of eating out if it's only "all right"? This conversation between my dad and uncle also illustrates the quality of the food: Uncle: What are you having? Dad: Chicken-fried steak. Uncle: Is it good? Dad: The portion is huge. Uncle: Is it good, though? Dad: Uh, it's all right. And when everyone else decided to get a burger basket, my dad followed suit. I wasn't too hungry and wanted something healthy so I ordered the dinner salad... There were no tomatoes!!! This is what it consisted of: anemic iceberg lettuce, a ton of purple cabbage slivers, a pile of sliced black canned olives and shredded cheddar. It was very tasteless and disappointing. I suppose I just value quality over quantity....

Ever have one of those Saturday mornings when you crawl out of bed, pull on a pair of fairly clean sweats and crave pancakes? Wichita is a fantastic place to start your morning. The plate-sized pancakes will fill you up quickly, and the bacon is to die for. The waitresses are genius to leave carafes of coffee on the table, so you are never in need of a refill. The Bloody Marys are pretty darn good as well. Speaking of the waitresses, they seem to have a very admirable skill of balancing glasses, committing complicated orders to memory, and flirting with my father-in-law, all without missing a beat. And they have never once commented on the sweats! Feels like family.

Good burger's and sandwiches! This is cleaned up some now that the No smoking ban is in place! It used to smell so bad but now it is MUCH better! They have a full bar and great beer selections too. It is NOT a place to go for a NICE meal as it is a old Sunshine pizza location so it is not fancy at all! Just a hang out but good food and usually good service too! Try it!

I get a massive craving for a juicy cheesy burger about every 5 months. Otherwise it's all veggies and sometimes fish. When that craving comes Wichita is about the only thing that will satisfy it without heading all the way to Calamity Janes. MMMmmm Mushroom, cheesy, bacony goodness. In addition to having good burgers they are the king of oversized portions. I saw a couple order an $18 appetizer platter that ended up feeding the entire restaurant. That's right. They ate and left the platter nearly 8 lbs of food, sitting there on the table to be dumped. That's just not okay. Everyone was thinking it but none of us wanted to take the plunge. Finally some late 2Os's guy grabbed it off the table and set it in the center of the room and everyone flocked to it like hungry animals. It was pretty gross to watch and i did not participate but the plate of "everything fried you can think of' was gobbled up in about 20 minutes. There are two pool tables, a non smoking restaurant section, Free pool on Sundays and $2.00 well drink specials on Fridays and Saturdays. They serve an awesome hang-over breakfast too! 'Lot's of hash browns, gravy, buttery biscuits sausage and cheese.

After turning around in the Biscuits parking lot because it was full, my friend and I wandered down the street to Wichita for breakfast Saturday morning. We followed the rest of the crowd in the backdoor and proceeded to grab a booth in the back room. After sitting for about five minutes and not even seeing a waitress, we moved to the front area. Now what's really funny is that I used to come here to go dancing way back in the day before I got married....but I haven't ventured back inside since. I was kind of amazed that after oh so many years, it was still virtually the same. Picnic tables and heavy wood furnishings are the order of the day and could be why they've stood the test of time with very little wear and tear. My friend and I spotted an empty booth and proceeded to wait another five minutes for coffee and water. I have to say the coffee was hot and strong and she left the caraf at the table which was lovely because there is nothing worse than ordering coffee and never getting a refill. I mean come on people! We decided to split the super colossal omelette (or some such name) - four kinds of meat, five kinds of veggies, and two types of cheese wrapped inside six eggs. At $12 with hash browns and toast I thought it was a decent price. The omelette came out on it's own plate and was piping hot and perfectly cooked. I was so full from it I didn't manage to eat any of the hash browns and toast but they looked like the typical shredded potatoes that everyone else serves. Though I thought the food was good, the ambience was lacking and the wait staff seemed overworked and frazzled. I'm sure it will be another few dozen years before I venture into this place again.

Burgers are excellent! The bartender is the one who has served us the 2 times we've been there & she is very fast & nice. I wouldn't recommend the wine but the beer selection & mixed drinks are good.

Food is bland and you don't get what is described for the item. Service was so-so. Will not go back. May be good to some people but it's probably due to lack of restaurant selections in Oregon City. Still not worth it to me.

Love the food here! Take the kids every Monday for tacos. My husband and I like this place to play pool.
